The days are gloomy and the motivation is practically at Zero. So I thought, on this glorious Monday morning, on the day that sets the stage for the week ahead, I would provide you with 5 ways to kick-start your week. Every week.
Prepare on Sunday.
Prepare your bags, your packed meals, your outfits the day before to avoid stress on Monday morning. If you’d like, plan your week ahead beforehand. Preparation always helps a little to stay ahead of the game.
Wake up earlier + arrive earlier.
By doing this you’ll have more time on your hands to settle in in the new week. You get to take a breather and start off your week stress-free and relaxed. Arrive at uni or your workplace a little earlier and work on things that would make the rest of your week easier. With some time to spare, you can organise a little. Sort everything out, deal with your e-mails, get small tasks out of the way before the day has even begun, prioritise what’s urgent.
Set weekly goals.
Update your to-do list for the week. It sets everything into place, knowing what you want in the long run. Schedule baby steps for every week to avoid drowning in responsibilities that will keep building up.
Celebrate your success.
Start on a positive note by reflecting on your successes. Pat yourself on the shoulder because you’re absolutely killing it.
Do something that makes you happy every week.
Don’t drown yourself in responsibilities that make you anxious. Set some time aside to do things that you love, that make you feel good about yourself and your abilities. Treat yourself!
Now go and grab yourself a great cup of coffee. Or tea. It’s Monday after all.
What really kicks off your week?
