Welcome back to the Filmroll series!
I finally went back to London for a week after not being able to earlier this year. Some of you might still remember that I had a little accident and had to get surgery on my knee which is why I didn’t get to fly to London when I had planned to, back in March. I’m glad I went in August instead. The weather was lovely and even though it was a solo trip, it really calmed me in a way. That city makes me so happy.
When We Met
I met G, my boyfriend, a couple of months ago when he approached me in Central Dresden. We proceeded to hang out by the Elbe river, talking walks across the bridge, around town. He’s totally camera-shy and hates social media so I thought cheeky film shots would be a nice compromise. When the film got developed, I broke into a massive grin. He smiles or is laughing in all of them. And it’s my favourite thing ever.
Long Time No See
I also got to meet old friends that I haven’t seen in a very long time again. You know that feeling with certain people you get when you haven’t seen each other in a while but when you do meet it’s like you’ve never even been apart from each other? The sense of comfort and familiarity gets me every time and it’s simply wholesome.
Do you still shoot film? What is your favorite motif to shoot?
