My mother used to take photos on her Canon Prima Super 135N (on 35mm) but when the digital side of life evolved, she stopped using it for the past twenty years or so. When she and my sister moved to live in the same city as me now, we found it again and I decided to adopt it and make use of it.
She actually still had empty film rolls at hand so I decided to give it a try at Bundesrepublik Neustadt, which is a district street festival in Dresden’s Neustadt, my favourite part of town. I got to go there with my favourite people, my dear friends. So with that camera in hand, of course, I made it my mission to snap away.
Part of me was a bit scared because I didn’t know whether they would turn out any good. I didn’t play around with any options or settings on there other than flash. I got the full film of 36 pictures developed and scanned.
The pictures really did turn out way better than I thought. Mind you, it was so dark I could barely see anything through the lens. Also, I was a tad tipsy so I’m actually surprised I didn’t get blurry shots.
See for yourself. There’s my archive for shots on film on Instagram now, too, and there’s more than I’m displaying here, if you fancy a follow. 🙂
Do you still shoot on film?
