When we think of the plastic we use, we think about large plastic containers or plastic bags, but the more you think about it, the more you realize plastic is everywhere. You most probably have already stopped using most of the plastic that is known to be more than harmful to our dear environment and have been taught to start avoiding it for that reason. But wherever I look, there are still many places and occasions where plastic is still used so this will be an attempt to remind myself, and you.
Get a re-usable bag.
I try to take my own tote bag with me everywhere I go, just in case I will have to go on a small grocery tour.
Try avoiding products sold in plastic bags.
If a package or product is wrapped in plastic, try not to purchase it. Look for package-free, glass packages or cardboard packaging instead. Many products can be found in non-plastic containers.
Store your takeouts or leftovers in your own containers.
Take a glass or cardboard container along with you for this purpose and avoid Styrofoam restaurant packaging.
Get rid of small plastics
It even starts with straws for your drink or the way you wrap your sandwich.
Rethink your period
Think reusable menstruation products to go plastic-free. From reusable, washable absorbent pads and underwear to rubber or silicone cups, there should be at least something you could try.
